One parent pays. The co-parent is always free.

Most co-parenting apps make both parents pay. That means the schedule goes dark the moment one household misses a bill. Their business only works when both sides stay subscribed. Ours works differently: one parent sponsors the family, and the other parent's access is free, no matter what's going on between the two adults or who picks up the tab.

If the sponsoring parent cancels, both households keep read-only access to the calendar, expenses, and records for 90 days. Either parent can resubscribe in that window to restore editing. We will never lock your kids' schedule behind a payment dispute.

How this compares

OurFamilyWizard charges each parent separately, about $149–199 per parent per year, so roughly $288–400 for a family. AppClose, TalkingParents, and 2houses use the same both-parents-pay structure. CoFam covers the whole household: Basic is $79/year, Premium is $119/year, billed once.

The difference is the model. Theirs earns more when both parents stay engaged in the conflict. Ours just needs the schedule to keep working. See the full breakdown: CoFam vs OurFamilyWizard.

Calm by default. Powerful when you need it.

CoFam is built for cooperating households, a beautiful shared calendar and simple expense splitting that assume good faith. When life gets more complicated, Premium adds the tools you'd otherwise switch apps for: approve-before-change oversight, and Court mode with PDF exports of your own schedule and expense history. Both stay off by default. They're there if you need them, never in your face if you don't.

The one thing we won't build: anything that surveils the other parent. No location check-ins at exchanges, no message tone-scoring, no recording your co-parent. Keeping your own records is your right; watching the other person is not what this app is for.

The subscription is the only revenue model

CoFam does not sell advertising, does not sell user data to third parties, and does not use family content to train AI models. The price covers the product. Co-parenting data (schedules, expenses, handoffs) is among the most sensitive data a family produces, and monetizing it anywhere outside the subscription would be a betrayal of the people who trusted us with it.
